A Place With Soul
Lovingly maintained over the years, Finca El Castillo combines authentic Andalusian architecture with the warmth and atmosphere of a true family home.
Finca El Castillo is more than a property; it is a place with history, character and a unique connection with nature.
Built in 1970, this authentic Andalusian cortijo has been lovingly preserved while carefully updated to offer modern comfort. Original wooden beams, antique doors, traditional wooden shutters and charming details create a warm atmosphere that new-build properties simply cannot replicate.
Every corner tells a story, from the welcoming fireplace in the living room to the peaceful terraces overlooking the gardens and surrounding mountains.
Updated with care, while preserving the original character of the cortijo. The original cortijo was completely stripped and renovated in 2024, with new flooring, a new kitchen and new bathroom throughout. The swimming pool has also been renewed, while the front terrace was beautifully renovated in 2026. Every detail has been considered to blend modern comfort with the timeless character and authentic charm of this unique country estate.
A Private Mediterranean Estate
Set within a mature Mediterranean landscape, Finca El Castillo offers a rare level of privacy while remaining easily accessible. Access to Finca El Castillo is exceptionally easy, even for normal cars. Just 300 meters from the entrance to the hamlet, the property is reached via a concrete road, followed by a broad entrance, a flat driveway and generous parking directly at the house.
The estate is surrounded by beautiful gardens, mature trees, palm trees, and impressive natural rock formations that create a unique atmosphere of tranquillity and harmony with nature. More than 20 mature olive trees, approximately one hundred and twenty-three pine trees and a rich variety of flowering plants create an extraordinary Mediterranean landscape that has evolved naturally over decades.
Walking paths lead through the grounds, revealing different corners of the property throughout the seasons. Colourful flowers, the scent of Mediterranean plants and the rich diversity of birds make this a truly living landscape.
A private covered terrace area provides shade, peace and endless possibilities — a natural retreat to enjoy, explore or simply relax in complete privacy.
The beautifully landscaped and secluded swimming pool area offers a private place to swim, sunbathe and unwind, with generous terraces, mature greenery and views extending across the estate towards the Viñuela reservoir.
Views towards the large, level meadow with its own private entrance gate, a wonderful opportunity for keeping horses, ponies or small livestock, or simply enjoying open green space surrounded by nature
Space, Freedom and Possibilities
Finca El Castillo offers something increasingly rare in Andalusia: space, freedom and endless possibilities.
The fully enclosed estate benefits from three independent entrance gates, offering exceptional flexibility and privacy. Surrounded by its own land, the finca feels wonderfully private and secluded.
An approx. 60 mtr long private driveway leads to generous parking areas for multiple vehicles, making the property ideal for family living and entertaining guests.
A large, level meadow with its own private entrance gate provides a wonderful opportunity for keeping horses, ponies or small livestock, or simply enjoying open green space surrounded by nature.
The separate garage also benefits from its own independent access gate, while all areas of the estate remain connected within the secure boundaries of the property. The house, swimming pool, gardens, meadow and garage form one harmonious private estate.
Despite the feeling of complete tranquillity and privacy, Finca El Castillo is not isolated. The excellent access road, paved all the way to the entrance gates, makes the property easily reachable with a normal car.
Reliable high-speed internet via Starlink makes working from the finca possible, even in this peaceful rural setting.
Authentic Andalusian Interior
Step inside Finca El Castillo ...
... and discover a home where authentic Andalusian character, natural light and comfortable modern living come together.
Enter through the main entrance and you step directly into the spacious living room, the heart of the house. To the left, a cosy seating area is centred around the built-in wood-burning fireplace, creating a warm and inviting place to relax during the cooler months. The fireplace features a stainless-steel surround, glass door and integrated convection fan, combining traditional atmosphere with efficient heating.
The living room naturally flows into the rest of the home. On one side, it opens directly into the kitchen, while a second entrance door provides direct access to the outdoor terrace, making the transition between indoor and outdoor living particularly easy.
At the opposite end of the room is the dining area, with a long dining table offering plenty of space for relaxed meals and entertaining family and friends. The generous proportions of the living room allow the seating and dining areas to feel distinct while remaining part of one welcoming central space.
From the living room, the layout continues naturally towards the more private areas of the house. Centrally positioned is the comfortable modern bathroom, featuring a beautiful free-standing bathtub. Beside it is the guest bedroom, making this part of the house particularly practical for visiting family or friends.
A small hallway with a large built-in storage cupboard leads to the more private sleeping area. Here you will find the spacious master bedroom together with the third bedroom, currently used as a study.
The third bedroom offers interesting flexibility depending on how the new owner wishes to use the space. It can remain a comfortable third bedroom, making the property a genuine three-bedroom home, or be transformed into a generous walk-in wardrobe, dressing room, creative studio or private office adjoining the master bedroom.
Throughout the house, the windows are relatively generous for a traditional cortijo, allowing abundant natural light into every room. This is one of the property's particularly appealing features: despite its thick traditional walls and authentic character, Finca El Castillo feels bright, airy and welcoming rather than dark or enclosed.
Original wooden ceiling beams, antique wooden doors, traditional windows with wooden shutters and wooden floors preserve the soul and history of the cortijo, while the newly renovated kitchen and bathroom provide the comfort expected of a modern home.
The result is a property with something increasingly rare: the character and atmosphere of an authentic Andalusian cortijo, combined with a practical layout, natural light and the comforts of contemporary living.
A beautifully private swimming pool forms one of the most inviting spaces at Finca El Castillo.
The pool measures approximately 24.50 m² and was fully renovated in 2024, including a completely new pump and filtration installation and new skimmers. The renovation provides a modern and reliable pool system while retaining the rustic character and charm of the estate.
Adjacent to the pool is a separate small WC house, providing convenient facilities without having to return to the main house.
The entire pool area is fully enclosed by elegant fencing, with a beautiful wrought-iron entrance gate designed in the same traditional style as the finca’s main entrance gate. A second gate at the rear provides convenient access towards the garage, where the pool’s technical installation is located.
The enclosed design offers an important additional advantage: peace of mind for families with children and/or pets, while still maintaining the feeling of an open and beautifully integrated outdoor space.
Surrounding the pool is a generous sun terrace, with ample space for loungers and relaxation beneath the Andalusian sun. A tropical-style parasol provides welcome shade beside the water.
A second, more secluded terrace lies beneath a magnificent mature tree. From here, the view opens across the finca’s own meadow and towards the Viñuela reservoir, creating a wonderfully peaceful setting for morning coffee, an afternoon siesta or an evening drink.
The pool area is therefore much more than simply a place to swim. It is a private outdoor living space combining sun, shade, privacy, safety and beautiful countryside views — a setting designed to be enjoyed throughout the long Andalusian summer.
A Lifestyle Surrounded by Nature
Here, time seems to slow down.
Life at Finca El Castillo follows the rhythm of nature.
Wake up to the sound of birdsong, enjoy breakfast on the terrace overlooking the mountains, spend warm afternoons by the swimming pool and end the day watching spectacular sunsets beneath a sky filled with stars.
The mature gardens, ancient olive trees, towering pines and colourful flowers create an ever-changing landscape that can be enjoyed throughout every season. Every pathway invites exploration, every terrace offers a different view and every day brings a renewed sense of peace.
Beyond the mature pine and olive trees, the finca is home to a wonderful variety of fruit trees and ornamental planting, including pomegranate, lemon, orange, fig and carob trees, three magnificent Washingtonia palms, colourful bougainvillea, purple wisteria cascading over the terrace, jasmine and a selection of other tropical plants and flowers. Along the entrance driveway, large lavender bushes create a wonderfully romantic welcome, while wild lavender grows naturally throughout the finca, filling the land with colour, fragrance and life. Scattered among it all are also several impressive mature trees, adding yet another layer of character and shade to this beautiful landscape.
Whether you are entertaining family and friends, enjoying a quiet evening by the fireplace or simply listening to the wind through the pine trees, Finca El Castillo offers a lifestyle that is increasingly rare to find.
This is not simply a property. It is a place to slow down, reconnect with nature and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Outdoor Living at Its Finest
In Andalusia, life is lived outdoors — and Finca El Castillo has been designed to embrace exactly that lifestyle.
At the heart of the gardens is a charming outdoor kitchen, creating the perfect setting for long summer lunches, family gatherings and unforgettable evenings under the stars.
The traditional barbecue area and authentic wood-fired bread oven celebrate the timeless Mediterranean way of cooking, where meals become occasions and every gathering creates lasting memories.
Whether preparing freshly baked bread, roasting local produce or enjoying dinner with friends as the sun sets behind the mountains, this inviting outdoor space becomes a natural extension of the home.
The spacious covered terrace offers welcome shade during warm summer days and provides the perfect place to enjoy breakfast, a quiet afternoon with a book or an evening glass of wine while overlooking the gardens and surrounding mountains.
Surrounded by mature gardens, birdsong (more than +32 bird species are observed here) and complete tranquillity, it is a place where every season can be enjoyed outdoors.
Wild lavender grows naturally throughout the finca, adding its delicate fragrance and colour to the landscape. As a special touch for this much-loved flower, large lavender bushes were planted 2 years ago along the entrance driveway, creating an enchanting and wonderfully romantic scene when they are in full bloom. Their abundant flowers attract bees, while the many birds that inhabit the finca help maintain a beautifully balanced and harmonious natural ecosystem throughout the estate.
Views That Tell a Story
One of the many privileges of Finca El Castillo is its exceptional setting, offering panoramic views of some of the Axarquía region's most iconic landmarks.
La Maroma, the highest mountain in the Province of Málaga, provides a spectacular natural backdrop throughout the year.
The historic Zalia Castle, an ancient Moorish fortress, stands proudly in the landscape, reminding visitors of Andalusia's rich and fascinating history.
In the distance, the shimmering waters of Lake Viñuela, the largest reservoir in the Province of Málaga, complete the breathtaking scenery.
As the light changes from sunrise to sunset, these remarkable views transform with the seasons, ensuring that every day offers a different and unforgettable panorama.

One of the truly exceptional qualities of Finca El Castillo is its remarkable peace and tranquillity. Despite being conveniently located and easily accessible, the finca feels wonderfully secluded — especially at night.
At night, there is virtually complete silence. No barking dogs, no traffic noise and no disturbing background sounds — just the natural sounds of the countryside. This provides an exceptional quality of sleep and a genuine sense of peace that is increasingly difficult to find.
The finca also benefits from virtually no light pollution. There are no streetlights or other intrusive artificial lights around the property, allowing the night sky to remain beautifully dark and the stars to be seen in their full splendour. On a clear night, the experience is truly magical.
The position of the property itself is particularly favourable. Although the access road is close enough to make the finca convenient and easy to reach, the natural rise of the land acts as a buffer, shielding Finca El Castillo from road noise. This is an important but often overlooked advantage of the property's exact position.
Other properties in the surrounding area do not necessarily enjoy the same level of tranquillity. Depending on their position, some can be affected by noise from neighbouring properties, weekend gatherings, music or the sound carrying from local ferias and celebrations.
Finca El Castillo is remarkably free from these disturbances. It offers the best of both worlds: easy access and proximity to amenities, without sacrificing the silence, darkness and tranquillity of a true countryside retreat.
It is not remote or isolated — quite the opposite. It is simply exceptionally well positioned.
